Well, with a boy and girl pairing, you could get all kinds of stories whether it's comedic or romantic or serious.
With yaoi pairings, we're most likely to think of boy and boy pairings because of stereotypical issues that are in the real world. That's most likely to be more of a comedy thing but you can make it serious. We see girl and girl pairings less and even so, it's most likely going to be the oppisite to the boy and boy pairings but both can work.
In my opinion, I think boy and girl pairings work best because you can get a lot of drama from those types of pairings than you do in yaoi pairings.

boy-girl pairings would be sooo much better cause yaoi anime/manga is just pretty sick and weird while boy-girl pairings is natural in everyday life (unless it's a half dog demon from the 14th century pairing up with a normal girl from the 20th century!)

I go with boy-girl pairing because yaoi is just sometimes wrong...

Well, there are a lot of yaoi fans all around the world. ^_^ I'm okay with it, so I don't really mind or care.

It depends on your point of view. Everyone has different point of view, isn't it?
For me, I don't mind yaoi.
