We all do. It is normal and natural to think that your way of life is the right one. How many of us, as children, were shocked and surprised as we started to learn that there were other ways of doing things. However, that's not to say that we should look down on people who do things differently, I love learning about other cultures and it's fascinating to discover that ideas you thought to be universal actually aren't.
I've been writing to a girl in Canada for about twenty years, but in her last letter she was puzzled about Bonfire Night and thought it might be the British version of Halloween - I wrote my letter to her in mid-November.
Prejudice covers everything, not just race. We automatically pre-judge everyone we meet. We scan them (look them up and down) and make a snap decision on what kind of person they are.
I happen to be 21.5 stones, I was 25 stones last year. I know that people who don't know me immediately think I'm lazy and eat lots of chips, take-aways, sweets & cakes etc. I've been in restaurants with family and friends and have actually had comments.
My favourite food is salad which I eat in copious amounts as often as I can - I've had about ten lettuces so far this month but one of the comments as regards the previous paragraph is "I don't know who she thinks she's kidding!" if they see me with a salad.
I'm also thought to be unintelligent, do I sound monosylabic?
Another prejudice is disability. It's common for people in wheelchairs to be ignored, as though they don't have a brain.
How about the prejudice for absolutely gorgeous people, they are thought of as being brainy and popular with wonderful personalities; the type of people to hang around with. See what I mean, we all are guilty of prejudice.

I am not but I get called racist all the time, but I do judge people by the content of their character the problem is a lot of times that falls along race lines and they like that even less.

Not only the majority culture, but also the minority cultures in any given society are racist. Both sides guard their own territories constructed in opposition to others. I would say therefore, that racists generally tend to be those with problems of identity and have to recourse to this primitive building block of it.

Racist are the people preoccupied by thought of their race.In most cases they think their race is superior than other races in everything. This has tended to bring a lot of hatred on earth.some wars have been fought over the same.Racists view other races as lesser beings.

Everyone is, and anyone who tries to deny it is lying. We are all unsure of other races, creeds , religions, anything we don't know about, makes us apprehensive. And fear is the motive behind racism, a fear that we cannot control a situation, because we don't know how someone will react, due to our racial differences..
