They did have a reason. The rules say they are supposed to do random searches. They were following the rules. With those attractive legs I can see why you were selected at 'random'.
Yes I know the northern and southern borders are wide open. So are the east and west coast. Don't blame Bush alone. Blame every president, senator, and representative for at least forty years back who DIDN'T vote for better border security. And especially blame the Democrats and the ACLU. These random searches are because of their ideas that it's not right to profile. That might be construed as discrimination.

The borders are porous there is no doubt about that. Someone has to step up and do something about it. That Bush guy you hate so much actually has and has articulated a plan for the border but the plan and idea has hit a stone wall called POLITICS. As Ronald Reagan said Big government cant solve the problem big government IS the problem. As for your little freak out about being searched unless G.W. Bush himself searched your bag dont blame him blame the idiots who flew two planes into the Trade Center. Suck it up and get on with your life you should be glad they didnt find anything that could have landed you in court or jail in there.

They should be worried about our borders as you said. But random searches have become prevalent in the past couple of years. I too was picked out of a croud of people and frisked, while there were others around who looked more capable of causing trouble. People don't always make the right decisions when it comes to things like that.

I'm sorry.... what does the president of the United States have to do with random searches by the New York City Police?
Why haven't you volunteered to go "Man the borders"...
Pretty easy to sit back and complain about your "rights"... a much tougher thing to actually do something to defend them.
You need to step into reality.
{Edit}
Specifically for kehkohjones....
You really should get some facts before giving your inane opinion.
20 year military officer currently on his second tour in Iraq. Obviously doing more for the protection of our country than you...
But I will continue to gladly serve to protect your right to make an *** of yourself.
It goes without saying that your "liberal" interpretation of the 4th ammendment is the backbone of your commentary.
You're laughable. You have the audacity to question my service, yet I doubt, based on your comments that you have served one day in a uniform.
Keep demanding your rights. This person's 4th amendment rights were NOT violated. Get over it.
Added... Again, serving to protect your right to make an *** of yourself, and you continue to enjoy that right. Your hateful, meanspirited reply is not worthy of true debate, and as such will no longer be replied to.

Well, ever since 9/11, the govt has been instating all sorts of pointless laws. One of the most idiotic being the patriot act which basically strips the american people of any rights they once had, including your right to privacy. Essentially, the bill says that if an authority figure sees any reason that you might be a threat to our nation's security, then you can be searched, or even detained indefinately for no reason.

Wow. Deja Vu. I thought it was yesterday again.
They are doing random checks of bags to help avoid the subway bombings that have taken place in other countries.
I suspect having a bomb go off on your bus would be much more of a concern.
