Which works better on front and back thinning/ tell me about the side effects... any info appreciated...

Propecia is supposed to work better than Rogain but the combination of Propecia and Rograin produce the best results. They work in different ways so the synergy of using them together produces the best effects.
No side effects from Rogain. Very little is absorbed into the blood. Propecia side effects vary by person. Personally I have had only good side effects. It caused my sex drive to skyrocket and the volume of ejaculations has very dramatically increased.
However, I think I'm an odd case because most guys report either no side effects or reduced ejaculation volumes / reduced sex drive.

Propecia is better than Rogaine.

Propecia defnitely better, although sometimes docs recommend both. Regaine can be useful to slow loss of hair if you've used porpecia then stop
