He is not taking the high moral ground if he is talking about personal matters with others, and in a malicious way.

I think it always hurts to be accused of things we didn't do.

I don't know how you heard about this but most likely not directly from your ex. There is a possibility some of the facts have been altered.

You could try a direct straight forward conversation with your ex.

If that doesn't seem possible or like it would accomplish anything you could try setting the facts straight with a few real sincere close friends and ask them for advice on what to do next.

It's obvious that your ex is inmature and not over you. He's spreading rumours because he doesn't want anyone else to have you so he's making it look like you're a bad person so nobody would talk to you. He may also be trying to make it look like he's the innocent one. I would just do this....Take the High Road. Don't contact him and don't let him know or anyone he knows that it's bothering you because that would be the icing on the cake. Let it go and let it just wash off like dirt after a nice hot shower. You're better then that. It doesn't make you look guilty for not responding it makes you look like you have class. It makes him look crazy.

My ex husband did the same thing to me after I left him - but I just ignored it all and thought if people want to believe the lies he's telling then more fool them.

In the end he's lost a lot of his friends and family because they've started to see him for who he really is.

Get on with your life and don't give a damn about what other people say - you know its all lies, don't waste your preciouse time and energy trying to convince others.

Talk to him if you can to sort things out and find out why he is doing this. If there is no alternative, just ignore what is being said. You know that you are innocent, so rise above it. Remember, "sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me"!

Just do what I did when in the same boat a few years ago - say nothing - ignore it - until someone asks you direct - and then just say to them - "sorry, if you believe that - well I feel sorry for you! I am not going to lower myself to their level".

JAMAND is correct. DO nothing you know the truth and those who are your real friends will also know the truth. Keep your chin up and try to ignore it. It will stop! Keep Smiling XXX
