Oh my gosh!!! I know exactly what you're saying... There's only 2 of us in a dingy attic office. My colleague is out the office today so it's just me and .... nothing else.... phones haven't even rung today...and to top it all off....I have absolutely NO work to do... thank goodness only got 7 days left here then heading off for a fantastic new job...with people...lots of them
And my flatmate wonders why i have verbal diarrhoea when I get home....its coz there's no intelligent lifeform in my office (apart from me of course) hehe

I work in the back office of ahotel so there is always lots of noise. Right now though we have compulsory fire training and all the back office staff except me and all the heads of department that are normally buzzing about the back office have put it off til the last minute so I'm here on my own. I can hear the clock ticking and the receptionist down the hall slamming filing cabinets. Apart from that there is only the sound of my own typing.

Yes, no one talks to each other in my office, it is a very sad place to work. I have tried all sorts of tactics to enliven the place, but to no avail. Outbursts etc are not even noticed.
I have resorted to listening to AM radio on my MP3 player just for some human contact.

I am working at home today, and its bliss, im in my office / spare room. its peaceful i have a big windows where i can see blue sky and trees, the breese coming through the window is lovely.
compared to the normal noisy open plan office i usually have to work in im happy. but then its unusual to be working from home, i imagine if it was for any length of time i'd miss the interactivity with others.

It's wierd where I work. I work with 3 Russians who kind of do my head in! Don't get me wrong they are all really nice to me BUT they are either babbling away very loudly in Russian or they argue and then don't speak at all for days.

They also have a very "basic" sense of humour so I can't really share jokes or things that Brits find funny cos they just don't get it.

So I guess in answer to your question, it is a bit quiet here, yes.

It is quiet but I have the radio on online so can just hear it. My colleague is in a bad mood and as there's only two of us in one office is it very quiet - hopefully she'll cheer up so we can have a good gossip later!

often, while somebody is speaking, no longer something smart is being finished. this is perplexing to place in writing or think of once you're speaking. this is hazardous to talk and tension on the comparable time. people at paintings who're consistently speaking no longer merely are unproductive, they're nerve-racking all and sundry else. television is comparable... somebody whom i don't be attentive to and don't even like is speaking to me by a stupid container, and that i'm no longer able to do something yet stare at it with glazed eyes and drooling mouth. i assume speaking is wonderful once you're speaking inclusive of your gf or companion, or youngsters, or in a gathering. yet do no longer label somebody quiet merely by way of fact they do no longer look to be speaking. risk is, they're fixing an substantial difficulty, and you're nerve-racking them.

It is quiet in my office - but most people have I-pods or similiar that they can listen to. As long as the phones can be heard no one worries.

It is semi quiet in my office today, but we are walking on egg shells because one particular person may take something out of context and explode.
