Not all good. After Mao Tse Tung took over (and during the rule of the Chinese Communist Party), around 50,000,000 Chinese people were dead, either from exectuions, starvation or malnutrition.
But they also have, what I think, one of the best histories around. They had scientists, architects, artists, poets and philosophers even a thousand years back. Plus they have one of the most complex writing systems ever made!

I don't think that their government has much of a good history but I'm not an expert and I'm basing that on what little I've learned of China. As people, I never really hear anything 'bad' about them especially when talking about Chinese-Americans. They don't seem to get bashed as much as other groups/races do.

I am not going to judge someones history using standards of the present. The Chinese do have a wonderful history filled with discovery and learning. War comes with every culture. You could probably spend a lifetime studying Chinese history and still have more to learn.

I think that no history can be all good or all bad, periods in it can be.
Now China is leaving a good period, economically speaking, I don't know their domestic political issues.
In the past Chinese people have been through a lot of wars within their country and with other countries.
I like very much their way of thinking and their culture.
