How can I extract drawings or diagrams from pdf ( adobe reader 7.0) to Microsoft word?

In the pdf look at the basic tool bar (if it is not, choose it from the view > tool bar > basic) you can find a camera icon/snap shot tool click on that. You can find that second next to the hand tool (it will looks like a hand).
You will get a different mouse pointer instead of the normal one. Using that just make a border over the picture you want to copy and leave the mouse. A black snap comes and a dialog box appears showing that your image has been copied to clip board
Now you can paste that directly in word using paste option.

there is usually a button on top of adobe reader that has a picture of a mouse and if you click on that, you get a normal mouse and with that, you can highlight your picture and then copy and and....you know the rest

Just click the PrtSc button on the top right corner of your keyboard (this takes a screenshot) then ctrl+v in paint. cut out whatever you want. paste in powerpoint. right click. click save as picture. save anywhare. open the file you've saved. copy into word!
