i watched an episode of curb your enthusiasm recently in which larrys friend lewis needs a kidney... in a previous episode larry was saved from drowning and it was suggested that larry was saved by god to give lewis his kidney to which larry replied " why didnt god just fix his kidney"

do we make things more complicated then they actually are... read into things that are just pure luck.... and is larry correct in saying that if god really wanted lewis to get better he would have done it himself not by proxy

Of course Larry is so right. There are plenty of things that could have been changed if God really existed. Also wouldnt it save God alot of time if he had just made Lewis's kidney better himself and that way God would have more time to listen to confessions, watch over everyone and spend all that money that mad people donate to churches during mass.

God cant be that good if he is willing to see people donate mad amounts of money in church while a homeless guy with no money for anything to eat or drink exists within spitting distance of any church.

Yes we tend to make things more complicated than they really are, but......it is not the destination it is the journey.
Explanation: I believe if God were to step in and fix everything then we would miss out on the experiences of life. Larry would not have experienced what it feels to have someone save your life and then want to share the feeling with Lewis by helping him. Life is about experiences and making the most of them.

God often allows things to happen for which we have no answer. We don't always need to have one either. Perhaps God spared Larry's life and allowed him to experience this torment with his kidney in order to mold his character in some way. Perhaps God is calling him and wants Larry to know Him. If I were Larry, I'd be grateful that God spared my life and vow to give it to God.

youre here on your own free will....things happen that we can explain and thiings happen that we cant. life is unpredictable BUT although some may think that God intervenes and helps it could be that your faith in god is what is helping you and inturn its you yourself helping yourself . its easier to say that a divine entity has healed you . i do believe in miricles but i believe people have power and choices that they intertwine with the devine and it all still works out well. being compasssionit is not a human trait. (lord of the flies for example) ............. you need to find what you believe to be true in this story and in yourself and know that its okay to not figure things out. your answer lies with how this person was saved from drowning.
i was saved once by a voice that told me what to do. it might have not been god maybe a spirit watching over me who knows ,i know for sure it wasnt my own!

ps when you find whats right you wont be afraid of death...i'm at peace and accept my beleifs and have been for a long time. there is an afterlfe and we all come back to start over and repair what we screwed up in this one... mark my words,
i've seen dead people.

This story has God a lot more involved in the day to day drama than He/She is.

God is not really as concerned with these types of things as we are. Death is a big deal to us, but to God it is just the mechanism that allows us to get home to Our true reality with Him/Her.

We fear death because we are unsure of what is in store for us in the after life. God is not the least bit unsure so God views death very differently than we do. We fear death and see it as a bad thing. God is aware that death is just a part of the process that lets us escape the troublesome physical reality, so we can return home to our true reality with God.

People always assume that God sees everything exactly the same as they do.

Why would She.

Love and blessings Don
