I always believed in life after death and reincarnation, even before I realised they were accepted beliefs within some cultures and religions. That was my childish way of making sense of losing people permanantly. I also believed that we had a'connection' with one of every other species, thus if I squashed an ant every one connected with him- dog, person, humming bird etc would also inexplicably drop down. In my world your spirit will remain the same, so although you may be born as another animal or in another set of circumstances, you will be happy if you are true to yourself- the same as in this life.
I never believed in God and angels- I used to get freaked out over the idea of them watching me in the bath!!
I must have been a wierd and deep thinking child!
Buddhists believe in reinncarnation and that you work your way up to paradise (although I think it has a different name) by being good in each life, and living it to the best of your ability- if you are bad you will remain mortal forever.

Life after death is about where you go when you die. You'll be met by all your friends/family who have already passed over. Therefor you'll have the same family not a different one. Dr Ron Moody pretty much started the whole life after death thing. His book Life after Life is well worth reading and should answer some of your questions.
Reincarnation is where you come back. Don't really know much about it though as don't believe in it.

No one knows for sure. But enjoy the life you have, before you worry about the next, if thats as the case may be.

Did you watch that channel 5 program about the little boy from Scotland? That was pretty thought provoking. And wasn't he a really lovely kid.

I'd like to have a break and have a kit kat when I kick it. And if I come back, I want to be reincarnated as a giant squid. I'd target the QE2 and do a bit of a Deep Rising..

I have thought about that also, and i agree with you....the only way life after death will be worth anything is if i still have the same life but better...with full knowledge of this life to compare it with...its a shame we have to go through this at all in the first place...if there is life after death why do we have to "Live" in the first place.

I believe in life after death but not the same way as you do. I don't believe in reincarnation. I believe I can be with my family for eternity through the gift of Christ.

Familial relations don't matter to the dead.
Worldly connections don't matter to the dead.
Who you were or what you did doesn't matter to the dead.

Nothing you do, think or feel matters when you're dead... and everyone dies sooner or later.

And then you're gone.
No thought.
No feeling.
No pain.
No care.
Nothing.

If you're scared of that, its only because your instincts trick you into it. Do you want to just be another animal? Another biological automaton?
Accept the peace and release that comes only with non-existance, and only then can you be truly content with life.

Life after death = Life before birth. No difference, except that those you leave behind will have some memories.

yes i do believe in life after death. there's nothing worse than living your life as if there is no God only to die and find out there is.and worse still find out there is nothing you can do to change your mind. in life there are consequences for every action and you must be prepared to face them. cheer up however for all hope is not lost. don't go through life afraid of what tomorrow may bring. live your life to the fullest now and live each day as it comes.

I believe that your family now were always your family and always will be at some point or other - sometimes the roles are different - for example your mum and dad may have been your children or brother/sister etc.

Make this life count then... make sure you tell your family you love them every day, count your blessings, smile at a stranger.

I truely believe that the good we do in this life will follow us into the next. So, make this an amazing life - you don't know what will come next!
