Well, it depends what you're talking about. Some weould say when the hayabusa came out 8 years ago, that was the end of the blackbird. The hayabusa was still a better handling and faster bike than the ZX-14R despite having 100cc's less displacement. On the same side of the coin, the '07 GSXR1000 will beat both the '07 Hayabusa and the '07 14-R in the quarter mile. The Busa and 14R are marketed to people who just want the biggest bike with the biggest engine. As you can see the 1400 kawi doesn't make any more power than the 1300 suzi did, but a lot of people will buy it just because of the number 1400, and the idea that it is king. Tose types of bikes are more aerodynamic at super high speed, 160-200mph, and may have a higher top speed, but there is almost no where on the planet you can travel at those speeds for any length of time, making that type of performance useless, not to mention the turning prowess you sacrifice with that long of a wheelbase. I'd take the accelleration and turning ability of a litre bike in exchange for the few mph top end advantage they have stock any day of the week.

The blackbird had a very short life . You may not know this but a hyabusa is a bird in japan that eats blackbirds. Fitting name!!
The blickbird is alright but it does not compare to the GSXR1000 or 1300 or the ZX14. i would say that today all the liter bikes are faster than a blackbird.
The buss does so well for a couple reasons and drag guys will buy a busa because the engines last longer than the Kawis do. The kawi engines tend to granade faster than the suzukis when built for drag. They also are faster.

The Kawasaki is a fast bike, but like all Kawasaki's they don't last, therefore my choice would still be the Blackbird, i worked for Kawasaki in Europe and although they did bring out some great bikes at the time the blackbird first came out ,how many do you still see without problems.
I rest my case!

which every one runs the fastest and price will be the selling point and looks the amount of cc's does not alway mean it will be the fastest it is how the factory builds the motor and how much aftermarket parts are available to modify it to make it faster
i prefer a cruiser for comfort instead of going fast age is a big factor to comfort lol

Between those 2 bikes.. I would go with the Kawi. It looks great and it's modern.
