It's possible that you didn't put it in right. I know that when I used to use tampons I used to have this problem sometimes too in addition to the drying out such as if I would take it out too soon. So what I finally had to do was take and slide the tampon in with the help of the other finger.
But in answer to your other part of the question about whether it should feel like it's falling out when you walk, no it shouldn't be like that.
I quit using tampons due to medical issues unrelated to the tampon itself.

Then you have certainly inserted it wrong. Try tampons with the aplicator attached, that way it inserts the tampon exactly deep enough and the right position , which by the way should feel like there is nothing inside you, no discomfort. That way once you've gained more confidence in inserting this gadget, you can move on later and use the non aplicator type and insert it just right.

Not once it starts to fill with your fluids. Just make sure when you put it in you get it all the way in. If your vagina is dry like at the onset of your period it will feel funny. Once the tampon fills it will be almost unnoticeable until it is full & needs changed.

It isn't in far enough. You can put it very far in (the right way...) and it will be comfortable. It is impossible to "lose" a tampon inside yourself, so don't worry about that. Read the instructions in the box, follow them exactly, and it should be okay.

No, it shouldn't feel funny! this just means you haven't inserted it properley! There should be a leaflet in the tampon packet saying how to insert them right and all the stuff you should know! You should read it! It helped me! good luck

You probably did not have it in far enough. Your muscles will try to push it out if its not far enough in there. Always make sure you have the end of the string in your hand when inserting.

no...you probably didn't put it in far enough. you really shouldn't be able to feel it if it's properly positioned. Every box comes with an instruction booklet...you should take a peek at it.

you probably didn't put it in far enough, and the girl whose tampon fell out while she had a wee certainly didn't have it in far enough!
