The Trojan War was between the Greeks and the Trojans. According to myth, it began when the Trojan prince Paris spirited away the wife of Menelaus, Helen. You see, when Paris was born, it was foretold that he would bring about the destruction of Troy. To prevent that, his father the king sent him to be raised as a shepherd. And so it was that while Paris was off by himself, he was approached by the goddesses Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera. They were arguing over who was the most beautiful of the three. They had asked Zeus, but he didn't want to get in the middle of this (would you choose between your wife and daughters?). So he directed them to Paris. Each of the goddesses promised Paris something in return if he chose them as the most beautiful. Aphrodite promised Paris the most beautiful woman in the world as his wife, so he chose her. The problem was, Helen was the most beautiful woman and she was already married to Menelaus, King of Sparta.
Paris seduced Helen and brought her back to Troy. There's some debate over whether or not she went willingly. Aphrodite's influence certainly caused her to fall in love with Paris at first, but the duration of that love is unknown. When Menelaus found out that she had been taken, he was furious. He called upon the other Greek lords to go with him to Troy for revenge. You see, every other Greek lord had courted Helen along with Menelaus. When she finally chose Menelaus, the other lords pledged that should she ever be in danger or need their help, she would have it. Menelaus called upon that vow and so set forth with the other Greeks to Troy. The Greeks then set Troy under siege and the story of the war becomes the inspiration for the Iliad. Helen of Troy is known as the "Face That Launched a Thousand Ships." Hope this helps!

No - it was between Troy and pretty much the rest of Greece.
It started when Paris, the son of the king of Troy, kidnapped Helena, the wife of another Greek king (Menelaus, the King of Sparta. So I suppose you could say the conflict started between Troy and Sparta, but it was really much more a personal/honor thing). The two were in love, so he took her away from her husband and home to Troy.
Obviously, her husband wanted her back (she was considered the most beautiful woman in the world), so he took his army, and got several of his friends (other kings) to help him, and they went to try trying to get her back.
Of course, from there the reasons for the war became more complex, with people on both sides getting killed and their friends wanting to avenge them.
