Have a few beers before bedtime.

Seriously, there are new sleep meds available. Consult your doctor.

I'm extrememly sorry for not answering your question; I'm not trying to "get points" (yea, getting points on an answering site is my life). It's 5 26 am, and I haven't slept yet. I do this nightly, even with sleep aids. Some people don't understand that when someone says "I've tried everything", they most likely mean it. I'd go ahead and stay up for days til I couldn't stand it, but you probably have things to do. (I don't) Sometimes Yahoo! Answers disappoints people because some answers are such crap. It may be a pain in your schedule, but see a doctor. They're good for.....something. Scare the doctor with an apple; I'm sure he(she)'ll growl at it. O_O That was a dumb joke, I know.

Try a relaxing bath with some lavender scented wash. Also, a glass of milk (if your not LI). Dim the lights in your room, avoid caffeine and alcohol. Prayer works wonders for me. I pray (especially on late nights after working) that God will help me feel like I've had a full nights sleep no matter how much I get; even if it's only 3 or 4 hours. I pray the same for you right now. God bless.

Yes, I am the same way. My mind goes a mile a minute when I go to bed and I could stay up for hours with anxiety. I now have a book and a small light near my bed and I read. it soothes my mind and gets me tired in minutes especially if it is an encyclopedia or dictionary. I am not kidding! Right now I am reading the bible. For me, there is no other way to stop my ming from wandering.

If you want to fall asleep ask your doctor about it.
I've heard that somebody giving you a foot massage helps.
Think of how you sleep in the day and relate it to at night.
Watch a movie until you cant keep your eyes open or try sleeping with a hot water bottle. Use comfy pillows and covers.
I hope this helps!

do not sleep in an "owl's" sleeping time(during the day) and just lie in the bed for the night. In 1 or 2 days you will learn not to be an owl. Stop drinking too much of caffine.

This really works for me. Pick up a boring book and read. Too many people want to fix their sleeping problems by taking pills but there are natural ways that work for most of us. Reading a boring documentary will put your restless mind to work and soon the sandman will come to visit.

I think the best way is to "meditate". Teach yourself to relax completely and learn to clear your mind by concentrating on breathing deeply. There are lots of places on the net that teach you to do this. It takes some practice but once you have mastered the art you will sleep like a baby.

I have a constant problem with my mind going on when I am trying to sleep. I started listening and focusing on the TV and I take Melatonin to make me drowsy. You have to find something that your ears and mind can focus on so your mind doesn't start thinking independently. It sounds stupid but you need to give your ears a focal point and make your mind follow it. Knocks me out every time, with help from the Melatonin. Hope this helps!!

See dc about Ambien or Lunesta.....the commercials are everywhere, perhaps the non-habit forming ones will work for you?

The problem is more so in DRASTICALLY changing from a night owl to one who sleeps when the world sleeps.....its hard, as I am the same way....but its all about HABIT. See about a sleep aid to get u started, and form habits that prepare and help you sleep at night.

Get a night job, & take tylenol PM 30 minutes before going to bed.
If that doesn't work add a few drinks before bed.
