When should I introduce my child in Chess?
I want to know the min. age of child when he can be suitably introduced to chess.

Not really sure but my daughter was 3 when we introduced her to chess - my husband and older daughter would play and she always felt left out so we showed her the pieces and explained what they were and where they could move. At five she started chess club at school. She enjoys playing it now aged 10. I on the other hand have been shown how to play numerous times in my life but could never understand it!

Make sure the child does not put things in his mouth before you introduce them to a game such as chess. I personally learned how to play checkers before I tried chess around the age of 7. Chess is much harder to learn.

My niece started learning chess at age 6
it will very from child to child
The world chess champion learnt be watching her Mum (another great player at about three or four and was soon check mating her Mum and other players)
look up chess news arches (old news)

My dad introduced me chess when I was 4. I kept on practicing until now (i'm 11 years old). I'm now the chess master.

well im supposed to b born in 1885 but i was born..10 years l8r, and anyways my mum gave me a chess set at 8, and then i started playing against my family and stuff, then at 11 i started to go to a chess club, and now i get invited to LOTS of tournaments. When your child is ready for it. If he shows interest in it at an early age encourage it.

You should teach them when they are smart enough to learn... they also have to like the game because you dont want to force your child in doin things they dont want to do
