They are abnormal growths found within or outside a woman's uterus; mostly older woman say as from ages 30 - 40 or 50.they can be the size if a green pea or as big as a basket ball.( That's the the biggest i have seen). Some say it's because the woman might not have had kids or some stuff like that
They can hinder pregnancy from taking place. Some syptoms include:
Heavy menstrual flow with tiny / massive blod clots.
Very painful menstrual pains.
Sometimes, if quite big, you could feel it if you press your tummy with your hand.
Also, it could SOMETIMES be the cause of pain during sexual intercourse.

I should know because I had a myomectomy( surgery for removing fibroids) 3 months ago and before the surgery, i experienced these symptoms.

According to the Gyn, mine were as large as a 3month old pregnancy( they were actually two of them) and were so badly positioned - they were @ d back of my uterus lying very closely to the Endometrium(the part that a fertilized egg attaches to in the womb).
If you think you have fibroids, i suggest you see a Gynaecologist. Cheers!

There even simple herbal solution is also discussed. If you are approaching menopause, do not worry about them, they contract by themselves.
