Stop it for how long? How much does it cost? Where are your sources?

I doubt that that is true...

If it is, just think about what we could do with all the money being wasted in Iraq right now. That far outweighs the cost of any single spacecraft.

I did read a study a few years ago that said world poverty could be eliminated forever for about $100 billion a year. I can't find that reference though...

Wrong.

Having the money and implementing the plan are two totally different things. No amount of money will magically change the political environment of some disastrous third world nations. The rulers, tyrants, warlords keep people poor and hungry intentionally.

That's false. No amount of money would stop hunger in the third world, because hunger is not caused by any real lack of food. Hunger is primarily caused by political strife, civil wars, lousy dictators, corrupt African governments ... money doesn't solve those problems.

Did you know that the construction of spacecraft has brought about thousands of tech inventions that benefit all mankind?

Wrong. Don't let yourself be indoctrinated with a load of crap. These countries don't have the administrative ability to even get this money to the folks who need it. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day! We have to teach the man to fish in order for him to eat for his lifetime. We would have to develop educational skills that are marketable or continue to throw money on nations who don't or can't take care of themselves. It is their governments who victimize them! We think we have it bad? Our problems are minimal compared to these poor folks. I wish what you said was true, it just isn't that simple.

it's our money, we earned it and paid the taxes, and we like spacecraft better than feeding those lazy people who can only kill each other.
