Has anyone stayed in Wish Hotel Taipei?

I am planning a business trip to Taipei soon and I am interested in staying at this rather new hotel.

Please do share your comments and pics (if any) if you had stayed in this hotel before.

Thanks

Hi,

A friend of mine stayed at the Wish Hotel recently.

I only got a quick look - it looked fine and my friend said it was clean, convenient and modern.

It's conveniently positioned which is ideal for your quick stay!

It wasn't luxurious by any means - then again if you want that you'd have to open your wallet a bit more.

I haven't stayed there, but as you are probably aware, this hotel opened fairly recently and features on a number of discount websites, one of which is Cheaperthanhotels - Taipei.

There are plenty of images of the hotel on the link below, but one thing i did notice is it's 3 star rating, which is quite low for a place so well decorated. Prices start from around $65 with breakfast.

I do think you should compare it with other hotels in the district, so i provided a directory page where you can sort with a filter by price, star rating and location other alternatives, just to be comfortable.

Hope that helps a bit

We stayed at the Wish hotel booked through the ratestogo.com site. http://www.wishotel.com.tw/ . Not many reviews on this hotel on this site, so I shall provide my comments.
It was in a really small lane, our driver did not know how to get there! We had to tell him it was near the Ambassador hotel. Street was a little bit dodgy, cos there were karaoke bars on that street. I dont know if it was the red light district (?) but didnt see any wierd characters, so it was OK. The hotel was small, but newly renovated in the modern style. Very clean. We got the deluxe suite and VIP suite for about S$130 and S150 - deluxe suite had a great steam bath/spa thingy and the VIP suite had a jacuzzi with coloured lights! Someone mentioned before in this forum about the glass bathroom doors in these suites- they are covered with opaque glass only at a certain level (from your knees to your shoulders) so you can peek through - not suitable if you are travelling with friends!
Breakfast was provided - western style (bread, egg etc) and chinese style (my favourite - porridge with very tasty side dishes!)
Laundry facilites provided - washing machine (and washing detergent) and dryer - for free! Good for us, cos we travelled with a baby, who needed constant changes of clothes..
Service - great! I think it is a small hotel, so the receptionists "bao ka liao" - they would even go to the breakfast counter and help out with breakfast! Very polite, stood up from the reception counter everytime we came down to the small lobby and greeted us. We brought a slowcooker to cook baby's meals and it didnt work too well in the room - only 110W or something. So they offered to plug it into their kitchen for us, and even offered put in some carrots into the plain porridge as we hadnt brought any vegetables along. We were very happy with their thoughful service...
Location - about 5-8 minute walk to Shuanglien MTR, which is on the Danshui line. Convenient for going up to Shilin, Beitou, National Palace museum and Danshui. 2 stops to taipei Main station. You will walk pass some restaurants/groceries/fruit/organic foodstore on the way to the station. I think the area is a business / working area, so lots to eat around there . There was not much shopping around there, but we had great fun observing how the local Taiwanese lived and ate and shopped. (there is a wet market selling vege/fish/fruits/clothes) just opposite Shuanglien MTR) We also had great beefnoodles , guotie, doujiang etc all around there.
Overall, location not bad, rooms good, service excellent!
