A graphic image comes generally in two forms, Vector graphic and Raster graphics
A Vector Graphic is an image made up from lines i.e. a line from one point to another of a certain width, type and colour.
A Raster Graphic is made of dots (pixels) of certain colour, the basic format is .BMP which is the raw data. Other Raster formats are typically .JPG, .TIF etc. All these are different type of compression used to compact that raw image. There are also .GIF files which contain more that one image therefore a simple animation is possible.

A photo is a photo, an image is any picture, and a graphic is a picture that has been drawn (like clipart) or manipulated, usually to use as an illustration.
Although 'graphic' and 'image' are sometimes interchangeable. I'm not sure thatmakes it any clearer! :)
