the Justice system is a bit of a misnomer in that for every crime perpetrated against society , people want Justice.

What they will actually get is Law, more exactly a Judges interpretation of the Law. The Law is Justice with the emotion removed. we call it criminal Justice but to many an eye for an eye is the true justice, but is that good law.

It is said that with an eye for an eye the whole world will end up blind.

It is true the Law is an Asss, but it is also administered by man and in many cases determined by society.

As a society we give greater punishments to those who would rob and steal our material goods than those who would kill, but then the question is at what stage of justice does society accept that justice has been served in a killing.

Does capital punishment ever really bring solace to the victims families? does capital punishment bring back the victim?

There are many cases of ordinary citizens who lead genuinely good lives in most things, then one night , totally out of character, get behind the wheel drunk and kill another. What would society consider reasonable Justice and what is reasonable Law? Should we hang drink drivers and those who are guilty of manslaughter ..is that justice or law

Criminal Justice is paramount to society as it keeps in check the balances that society expects.

The expectation of society is that the system will protect them whilst allowing a certain amount of generosity to those who might make mistakes , and allow them to learn a aleeson and rejoin society.

After all is it really societies wish today to hang an 8 year old for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family.

It was only 150 years ago that society said YES. Surely we are better than that!

Are you my sister? Well I used to do legal studies and this was a major focus.

The criminal justice system is important in reform and rectification of criminal behaviour in society. It really aims to prevent harm and ensure safety of citizens. Some sorts of punishments serve as a warning to ward off other people and the crime-committer themselves.
