Okay ... So you have a LAN and want to connect three computers together, Yeah you can BUT there are precautions you need to take...

You need to make sure that your computer is fully password protected and any file which is confidential is also not generally accessible... Why? for the simple reason that on a lan the one computer can fully acess another until and unless its password protected.

While connecting to net make sure that you have one computer directly connected to the modem and then connect the rest through a LAN hub ( Its a device in which one LAN wire goes and four come out, type of like that USB hubs) this will remove the hassel of installing seperate firewalls and anti virus programs on the various computers.

Well thats all, excuse the spelling mistakes if any.

yes, but computer 1 and 2 have to have 2 LAN cards in them... you'd be better off with a hub... not to mention, cables going from 1 to 2, and 2 to 3 would have to be crossover cables...

you've a broadband connection, examine in you router or change or broadband DSL modem, there is an extra beneficial port available (Like LAN or USB port), connect your different computer to it. in case you want more beneficial than to connect more beneficial than 2 computer's, purchase a HUB, its very low-cost , and then you may do both (share information and connect to information superhighway).

The easiest way and least painful is to use a router. They start a about $20 and go up. You will also need a Cat5 patch cord for each computer.
