John is the walrus , so to speak, an idealist, the more talented and more active and liberated than the three...

Paul, is more finesse and talented as well... Who do you think is the best Beatles?

I have been an avid Paul fan since 1989 at age 9 when Paul released "Flowers in the Dirt," my favorite Paul solo album for sentimental reasons. A year later I saw Paul in concert - my first concert ever. So, above all I am a Paul fan, having a collection of Paul albums that is double the Beatles albums I own.

BUT...

For the depth of vision, the music that really reaches the human soul, the insight into the world and the strength of the message that is delivered, I would not hesitate to say that John's music should stand above Paul's in terms of quality. you know by now I love Paul, but geez he's written too many dumb songs in between the really good ones! (can I use the song "Morse Moose and the Grey Goose" and the album Pipes of Peace as an example of bad ideas?)

Who do I want more? I'd have to say Paul out of the two because John has been dead for about 20 years. : )
John Lennon had a flair about him that the others just didn't have, even when he was quiet he spoke, if that makes any sense. Paul I think after the Beatles broke up made better music though. Live and Let Die and Jenny Wren are amazing songs. John's inhibitions were thrown out of the window when he met Yoko and they did that barking album together. Both of their music wasn't as good after the Beatles broke up. I guess I'm on both sides of the fence. ha ha
I'll have to say Paul though...wow. ha ha

I think you answered your own question. John had so much talent, especially for songwriting. George was an amazingly talented musician, was there an instrument he couldn't play? Paul had the most beautiful voice. But if I must vote for only one, it's John.

For me, Paul. And also George. He was equally talented, but never got enough credit. All of them were masters though, and music would never be the same again.

I think it has to be Paul. If you ask again tomorrow, I might change my answer though...such a magical combination.
