i rent a mpv frm a family and accidentally i reverse the car i hit on something n cause a crack on the rear glass.i paid them $100 deposit n $150 rental per day upfront.i understand i hv to pay for the damage.but to my surprised i need to pay them extra 3 day rental which they lost frm another customers. total i need to pay 1 thousands over $$$$. n i did't get to drive on my actual booking day..can i fight 4 it??

i sign a agreement. wen i wanted a copy of wat i signed to read it again(for my reference) they said they cant give me.

i hit a low ceiling.. :( im so confused n sad now. its not about the money matter but the idea they wan to cheat..im dissapointed. the thing is i just wan to read the terms i sign..it just a few line only...

The answer is in your contract. I wouldn't think a crack would justify non-rental and the glass could have been replaced in half a day.

I think they are trying to take advantage of you and you are on good grounds to fight it. In fact, since you said you hit 'something', are you sure you did it?

Did you sign an inspection sheet when you accepted delivery? If not it's difficult for them to prove the damage was not pre-existing.

Addition: They are obligated to give you a copy, there must be a reason they don't. If they won't show you; do you think they would want to show a judge.

This could be handled easily by small claims court without the expense of a lawyer. My guess is their contract is not legally binding for the claims they make.

The rental may not even be legal by law or their insurance policy.

I would not pay for another customer, tell them you will get a lawyer..... that will scare them....
