On the news this morning: Comic Relief Does Fame Academy host Patrick Kielty has sparked complaints after calling a contestant a "big gayer".
Kielty directed his comment at Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray after he became teary-eyed as he performed on Saturday night.
Three viewers have complained to media watchdog Ofcom and the BBC said it had received a "small number" of complaints.

THREE people complained out of the millions watching and suddenly it's tantamount to Kielty being homophobic?! Is anyone else starting to get just a little bit tired of people jumping all over every comment made incase it is deemed as "bullying"? I'd also be interested to hear if anyone who is homosexual actually found this offensive.

Mark - maybe you're having trouble reading my question. I couldn't care less about Fame Academy, I think it's a pile of pants (maybe that'll attract more than three complaints). The question is more to do with people's reactions to the comment made by Patrick Kielty...

Kielty is a tosser theres no doubt but. Its getting a bit gay when people can lose there careers over one simple comment made while a bit excited. Its not as if he called him a feckin great bib gaylord or anything.

I agree with you girl.

3 people - what's that as a percentage of the millions that watch the programme? Exactly - you would round the number to zero. So that means I could get a load of mates to complain to the Ofcom about something petty and next thing it would be a pretty major headline. Stupid!

By the way I am straight.

silly girl - the minority rules always. if one person gets upset then stuff hits the fan.

it is sad because if you breath the wrong way SOMEONE will be offended.

people need to lighten up. i'm blond, i love blond jokes cause they're funny! i don't get offended by them.

at one of the schools here they changed the valentine's day parade to the red and pink parade, because a parent was offended - sheesh!

Sound no worse than Little Britain?

Mother in laws
The Irish
Jews
etc. don't usually complain when they're the butt of a joke.

Even worse it was probably one person with more than one e-mail ID that complained! I think it's all getting a bit silly isn't it!
