Not even in a bad horror film.
There is no guarantee that Cheney will not be forced to resign some time in the next 22 months due to health problems that have plagued him for years.
Cheney has had so many heart problems (4 heart attacks) and surgeries (heart stents, angioplasty, installation of a defibrillator) , and now a serious blood clot in one of his legs about a week ago, that he could not win a single primary, much less raise the campaign money even if he wanted to. If he had had these problems in 2000, he would not have even been chosen and confirmed for a cabinet post, much less chosen by Bush as Vice President.
Here is just a brief list of some of Cheney's health problems:
1978 - Heart attack #1 (age 37)
1984 - Heart attack #2
1988-06 - Heart attack #3
1988-08 - Coronary bypass surgery
2000-11 - Heart attack #4
2000-11 - Coronary stent placed
2000-11 - Abnormal heart function
2001-03 - Unstable angina
2001-03 - Coronary angioplasty
2001-06 - Cardiac defibrillator implanted
2005-09 - Popliteal artery aneurysm repair
2006-01 - Congestive heart failure
Now, this incident of a blood clot in a leg, which may have been anticipated several years ago, when he was forced for some time to use a cane. Official reports say that he had a recurrence of an old knee injury; however, in light of this latest report, it may have been a cover story for early signs of circulation problems in the leg, leading up to serious complications now.

Yes. Absolutely. I would love to see Dick Cheney get the Republican nomination for President. Then I could vote for Dennis Kucinich in the democratic party and know that he would win the general election in a landslide.

Why would he do that? He isn't in good health and I would think he might hang it up after 2008. He wouldn't want to be president.

No, due to health reasons alone. Besides, he has no plans to do so.
