Second hand smoke can cause athsma it does not cause cancer thats a lie the anti tobbaco industries are EXTREMELY EXATERATING IT and with athsma they dont really need to so its odd

i AM not saying second hand smoke or smoking is good i am simply stating the fact that it DOES not cause cancer.

YOU CANT SCARE SOMEONE INTO LISTENING TOO YOU

2007-03-12 22:40:03 · update #4

wait of course smoking causes lung cancer

2007-03-12 22:41:20 · update #5

I GET IT FROM SCIENTIFIC PROOF and by the bye i know what your doing

YOU ARE SAYING YOU GOT LUNG CANCER AND NEVER SMOKED TOO MAKE YOUR STATEMENT STRONGER PLEASE DO NOT LIE

and by the way you can get cancer from just going through life you accedently breath something in and get the all powerful ONE TRILLION PERCENT OF A PERCENT OF A PERCENT OF CATCHING lung cancer from second hand smoke.

all i am saying is people have built it up into if
you have been around a smoker for one month YOU WILL GET LUNG CANCER which is EXTREMELY far from the truth. I mean heck everyday you cross the street you get a chance of getting hit by a bus but do you go off trying to stop bus or crossing the street.

AND BY THE WAY the chance off getting hit by a car to the odds of catching lung cancer even if you are around a smoker your entire life is at least a one billionth percent of a percent of a percent chance away from the odds of getting hit by a bus so ASKERS PLEASE STOP SCARING PEOPLE

I agree. I never could figure that one out. Has there been any evidence of this statement? My mom was a waitress for years and years and years and never got lung cancer. (This was b4 it was banned in restaurants) I say the people who inhale the smoke is who it can give cancer to.

funny what people believe and yet the facts are there.. its all bs designed to create hatred for people 'dumb' enough to smoke..

I don't smoke.. but I know how to look up facts..dumbasses hehehe

One poster says 'if first hand smoke hurts you, why wouldn't second?' ummm.. geeeesh.. because its diluted? sorta like how drinking raw sewage would kill you and yet in fact your drinking water contains a small amount? because its diluted.. ya see? your learning..

fear mongers...

What? it cant be healthy, just think about it. This is sort of off topic, but I was at the "bodies" exhibit in Las Vegas, where they have real human bodies perserved on display, and the biggest surprise I seen was a humans lungs. they are not all pink and pretty like we were taught, they are grey and have black spots on them from common, everyday pollutants, but the smokers lungs were all black....i was surprised that healthy lungs are not pink!

But it DOES.

There is now substantial evidence that nonsmokers exposed to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) at home, workplace or public areas are at an increase risk of contracting smoking related illnesses. The relative risk of of death associated with regular exposure to tobacco smoke is as high as 1.3 compared to non exposed individuals. Studies suggest that:

* ETS is a cause of disease in nonsmokers.
* Children exposed to ETS have more respiratory infections a decreased in lung function growth.
* Adults exposed to ETS experience acute irritating effects.
* Adults exposed to ETS have an increased risk of developing lung cancer and probably an increased risk of developing heart disease.
* Separation of smokers and nonsmokers in the same airspace may reduce but not eliminate exposure of nonsmokers to ETS.

Furthermore, a significant proportion of people are intolerant to ETS. These develop eye irritation, nasal symptoms, headaches and cough upon exposure.

So passive smoking, or second hand smoking, is very harmful to non-smokers. It can even be more harmful than being a real smoker.

ADD: i'm just here to give answers..it's your lungs, not mine. die easily and have your children weep at your funeral with a banner that goes, "he told you so"...teehee. good luck...
