I have some Dix Mille Francs left over from when I was in Pointe Noir in the congo. I am looking for a exchange rate for this currency in either dollars or French Francs. If you can supply me a link to the place you got the exchange rate from that would be excellent.

10,000.00 BEAC Francs = 20.1591 US Dollars
(BEAC: Banque des Etats de L'Afrique Centrale)

Finding a currency exchange or bank that will buy them might be interesting, though.
What dates / country codes do you have? The year is the first two digits of the serial number, if I recall correctly, and the country code is a single letter in the upper corner
(If I remember correctly. C is Congo). I sort of collect African banknotes.

Added later: Country code T is Congo on the new issue notes. Depending on what you have, I pay 85% of the xe.com rate for circulated notes I need for my collection - 100% for uncirculated notes.

American Express does a large amount of money trades, they would currently know. Perhaps you could ask Inernational Banks as well, most are updated in the mornings. Don't forget your shots! Have fun
