All brands have a different image, have a completely different design and cover several price classes.
And, of course as well Rolex as IWC do not use ETA engines - and some other brands don't either.

I could say the same about a car company (GM for example), who makes different model cars under the GM and Chevy brand, but they are the same car with same components.
It's all about choice.
