Maverick, if my child was the molester? Depending on his/her age-on the average, beginning around 14 or 15-I would personally request the prosecutor seek the death penalty.

I already believe in then death penalty
We shouldn't have to wait so long for us to execute someone if they have been found guilty or if they admit to the crime. We need to outlaw the plea-bargain. We should execute anyone found guilty of murder, and anyone who rapes or hurts or abuses kids.

Murder also includes abortion

First let me say I absolutely agree with you about Ravens answer.
First off, anyone that hurts a child should face severe consequences. Child abuse whether it be physical, sexual or emotional is something that literally last a lifetime - actually maybe longer...because there are times when the abused child grows up and they put the same abuse on another child - a vicious cycle - not saying that pedophiles as there is no excuse.
What I think is that when someone especially a child molester hurts a child they should be punished. The death penalty by public beating would be great - we need to come up with something however because this problem is endlessly growing.
How many more children have to be abused and live with a lifetime of that abuse before our judicial system wakes up? Our system as it stands now has higher punishments for someone that broke into a house than it does for a child molester.
So to sum it up - yes I believe that if it was pronounced that the punishment for child molesters is the death penalty that it would eliminate some of these sneaky, despicable creatures from the earth.

It amazes me the number of people that are hell bent on revenge. Hmmmm, the good and upstanding, faithful and professing Christians that they are.

I don't believe in the death penalty, under any circumstances. Killing people is wrong, For you Christians, Jews and Muslims. Remember the commandment? Thou shalt not kill. I am sorry I didn't see an exception there.

Now, I also don't believe the rhetoric that sex offenders don't spend time in prison. In Iowa as in many states, a person convicted of a sex offense will spend a long time in prison. Usually 85% of the sentence, (that is 21 year 3 months to discharge a 25 year sentence), then after the sentence is discharged there is a 2 year supervised released. Now, additional facts, the vast majority of convicted sex offenders are family members of the victim. Although the media would have the average person believe that all sex offenders are going to commit another sex offense. Truth does not hold that. Check the numbers for yourself. Television shows like NBC's to catch a predator only serve to inflame the masses. Don't misunderstand me, there are those people that prey on children and they need to be separated from society, yes, they do. Additionally, it should be noted that there are those that believe that this is an illness, and say such things like they are sick and cannot be cured. Be careful, saying that this is an illness, to attempt to justify a desire to permenatly remove a person from society. Will only serve remove it from the realm of a crime to that of a mental illness. Ever hear of 'Not Guilty' by reason of insanity. You can't have it both ways, crime and illness. I say, convict the guilty, let them serve the time.

I believe in the death penalty in certain cases. I do not have children, will later. I think there should be a very severe, really harsh punishment for a person who sexually molest any child, not only mine, but any child. If found guilty, then death penalty would work, by the court or parent.

Yes, especially for repeat offenders. If they're let out they will kill so they can't be identified and put back in prison. They shouldn't be given an opportunity to repeatedly offend our children and the public. Same goes for rapists. Life in prison w/ no chance of pa roll or the death penalty. they are diseased and can't be cured. To let them out is to reinfect the public.

Yes. My child and any other child as well. Actually, let the family members decide their fate or dole out what punishment they see fit. No sympathy for these sick perverts. You hurt a defensless, innocent child you get what is coming to you.

No, I don't, because I'm pro-life. I do strongly support Jessica's Law, and firmly believe in hard labor. Basically, I think you should make criminal offenders wish they were dead.
