Tiger Woods is the highest paid athlete in the world and in the USA. People are saying Beckham but he is only making 25 mill compared to Woods' 85 mill. Dont forget, Beckhams huge contract is based over ten years.

Team contracts only, and/or endorsements included? Including endorsements, for Americans, I'd say Tiger Woods, LeBron James, Peyton Manning (endorsements out the wahoo), and D-Wade. Great athleticism, winning, and good character make these four role models highly attractive in the business world. International, I'd have to go with Roger Federer alone. He is dominating his sport like no other athlete is in any sport.
