The USA imports people trained in the hard sciences and mathematics because there is a short supply of that kind of person coming from American schools. First there is mathematics which is necessary to communicate physics. And physics establishes the fundementals of chemistry. Why don't young Americans step forward and do the work? Political science, psychology, computer science are fine but will someone explain why our young people shy away from learning the fundemental knowledge of the modern world? Why?

Americans are trained to be lazy, we are taught to get the best deal and to take shortcuts, Americans just don't have the work ethic, we have been brought up in more comfortable surroundings than other countries and we are just lazy and complacent with not doing work and only exercising our right to play video games and sit down... why do you think that we are the leading overweight country in the world?

Because America's education system has been in decline for a good while now.

Until the sources of outside labor somehow dry up, I doubt the US government will do anything to reverse this trend.
