Forensic psychology is a psychologist who deals with criminals. They talk to them and get information about them to find out if they commited the crime because they have mental health problems or if they are just crazy and decided to kll someone. If they are found guilty of the crime, the Forensic Psychologist tell the judge whether or not they should be admitted into a psych ward as their sentence or if they are going to be locked up. So, as you can see it all deals with legal laws.

Forensic Psychology deals mostly with offences committed by offenders with mental health issues. Forensic Psychologists are commissioned by the courts to determine firstly the mental state of individuals (i.e. are they sane or insane) secondly they will diagnose the persons condition (i.e. Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia) and thirdly they determine if the person is fit to plea in court (i.e. do they understand what they did and can they say they are guilty or not guilty in court). The psychologist will forward a written and verbal report of their findings to the court. This is why Forensic Psychology is also called Legal Psychology.
