yes that a good idea but remember scotch guard is only good for a few months tops and then it only coats the surface for easy cleaning as it dissolves in water so the the dirt comes off too without penetrating provided it hasn't gotten wet prior to cleaning . the reason Scotch Guard was invented originally was to preserve the fabrics in the construction phase of furniture making . it has it's value but it's not a miracle chemical either .think of it as a coat that you can remove with the soil it catches more easily then if it were allowing the under surface to get soiled.

I am a tenni-shoe girl and I always wash mine in hot water with a few more items like t-shrts or something. Don't fill up your washer with a whole lot of clothing because you tennis shoes needs to move around freely. After the was and rinse, I take the out and let them air-dry for a couple of days. That's what works for me.

Yes, it's 100% perfectly safe!

It should be effective, but nothing is every perfect when it comes to cleaners and protectors.

Just make sure to watch where you step and always keep the treatment up to date. Perhaps once a week or so.

Scotchguard should work on fabric. Email them at the website or call the 800 number on the can.
