I wouldn't say "just" a ride. That would imply a boring, "simply is" type of mentality or outlook on life. What a waste that would be.
A fitting analogy, but, depending on who interprets or comments on the phrase, you'll get everything from a "ride on a two foot tall, rocking horse pony to the Spaceshot on top of the Stratosphere Hotel, (which is over 1100 feet off the ground) when you get "shot" up towards, well... space".
Life is THE ride of a lifetime, but it can only be as exciting and thrilling as you make it. (or, through bad choices or inaction) dull and joyless, or a frightening (get me the hell off this thing) kind of journey.
So, whatever "your" personal "take" on this little "trip" might be. I hope that when "Your" ride pulls into the station, and the Conductor cautions you to "maintain your seat until the ride comes to a complete stop... please lift the rail and exit on your left... Now you may proceed to your next "ride", "Hope you've enjoyed the time you've spent with us..." and so on, and so forth. ...when all is said and done... the sun has set and you're out of tickets; that as you leave the park for your next destination, as you turn your head for one last look... you'll be able to smile and say that you have truly had a wonderful ride... on this thing called Life.

We are here on a journey/ride through life.
I began my journey 71 years ago. I have lived and learned by my mistakes. I forgive my self for my mistakes and the mistakes I made that have effected others through no fault of their own.
We fall in love and courtship is a glorious time that we will never again experience. We marry. We are young and become as one and begin a continual, journey together through life as mortals. Life comes around just once here on earth and then one day when we have reached our destination, this earth stops long enough to let us off.
I have always tried to be all I can be to the best of my ability. I try very hard to be positive. When I feel negative, I kick the crap out of my negative feeling and look for the positive.
I have tried to conduct my life in a manner so I could build good memories.
I'm, nearing the end of my journey. I'm living off of my memories and I'm thankful I have enough good memories to over shadow the bad memories.
Hope your ride/journey will be full of good memories.

It's a proverbial roller coaster ride of many up's and down's. It's inevitable through the course of the ride that we will experience all the twists, turns, heighths and depths all at a speed that keeps us on the track until the end of the ride.

It's definitely a ride, but I wouldn't say it's "just" a ride.

Yes, but in life we all have a sort of destiny like if you die after you graduate university, then your destiny was to graduate.
