Does anyone know how long it takes for your periods to return after having a mirena removed?

Hi been suffering severe pelvic pain,got my mirena taken out yesterday to see if this is the cause.Does anyone know how long before your periods return??any has anyone else suffered this with the Mirena??

hi kat,do you still get pelvic pain,ionly started getting this pain at end of jan.I have now got really sore stomach again today i dont know if its period pain or pain because my antibiotics are finished now.

hi no id had my first one for 5years then got it taken out and got another one and had that 2 years .I just started to get these pains in january,which i think is strange.

when i had mine removed about two months ago it took three days to come on then it was really heavy and painful so beware. i only had mine for a few months to see if it would stop my pelvic pain it didn't it only took the edge off of it niow i've had the menopause brought on and by the second injection my pain has completely vanished.!!!!!!! this has been the first time in five years without pain.

When I had mine removed some years ago, my period returned about four weeks later. It could vary from person to person. I did not suffer from severe pelvic pain, my problem was heavy bleeding which the mirena did not resolve and the coil was removed and other treatment provided. Hope your problems are resolved soon. i had my mirena coil removed and it was 12 months before my period returned but another 8 months until they became regular,i had the mirena in four four years and never had a problem with it .

depending on how long you had it in. Im assuming it wasnt long and your body attempted to reject it. So it should be within 28 days
