restart you ipod hold the circle button down at the same time as the menu button.
if that dont work wait to your ipod batterly run out

First, Check if your Ipod can be detected on another computer. If it can be, then the cable and the socket fo the Ipod are ok. Check your windows version. Windows 98 and older will need a driver to detect USB devices. If even this fails, then your USB socket might be faulty, try and change it. Best of Luck

sometimes you need to restart the computer with the usb connected. windows will sense its connection and search for the driver which i presume you installed. If not, please install the driver which came with the product. Still if not, try removing the usb and replugging it. if still not shown, there is something wrong. windows never fails in hardware detection specially if it is not malfunctioning.

mine did that,,,,oddly i had to uninstall the driver and then it worked
