I have loads of stuff to sell, but am a bit wary about using Paypal. I have heard people have had problems with it. What do you think?

Yes. I don't have the Pay pal account, but most of my friends do. They have been buying and selling items for more than two years. I never heard a complaint from them. it should be fine.In fact it is safer than Direct Debit.

Yes, its safe but people will try to get to it. You just have to use your head. Do all correspondence through eBay, if possible. You will be sent phishing emails from time to time but if you have done lots of business on eBay you get those anyway. If in doubt, forward the email to spoof@ebay.com. They will forward it to paypal. When logging in on paypal always make sure the URL is a legit paypal site and look for the lock. Its really no different than keeping your eBay account safe. People that's had trouble aren't reading how to keep their account safe. Btw, I think you'll love it! After joining pp, I'm wondering how I ever made it without it. Good luck and happy eBaying!

I've noticed that the majority of the people that have said they have had problems with it are the people who overdraw their bank accounts frequently (bankers run in my family, lol). Most of the time, they use PayPal or an internet site as a scapegoat to get out of overdraft fees.

In short, I have also been using PayPal for years and have never EVER had a problem with it. I know people who have had problems... they are prime example of my previous rant.

I've had a PayPal account for a long time. No problems so far.... (knock wood). You'll have a much more successful auction on eBay if you accept PayPal as a payment option. So many people use it.

Yap its save to open a paypal account on ebay, as they are owned by the same company. Also it helps you integrate your bids on ebay and pay directly via paypal.

The system also puts in place the buyer and seller reputation from your paypal account.

You will not have a problem with Paypal if you allways check to make sure you are at https not http. The s means secure. A webpage without the s is not secure so do not enter any personal informantion, sign in or password on it. Never click on an email link to go to paypal. If you need to go to paypal then type it in yourself. https://www.paypal.com Like I said, you don't know me, to be safe don't click that link type it in yourself.

I have used both for YEARS. Paypal is not the problem neither is eBay. But you are buying from people ans they can rip you off. so you have to be really careful about who you buy from. read their reviews and weigh the risk of buying from them, the same way you would have if ou were buying from a mail order catalog.

Ebay and Paypal are not the problem, PEOPLE are the problem. Steer clear of dodgy auctions and you'll be fine.
