Mine is fishing with my now dead grandad outside his house in the canal.

I lived near the beach and we used to go swimming every night, with all my best friends, and at weekends with my dad. The warm summer nights, the sand - the girls in summer.
My favourite memory is my grandad teaching me to swim by holding me over the side of my dad's boat by my shorts and saying if I didn't learn to swim quickly I'd sink - and I did learn quickly.

It sounds horrible and is a long story but my favorite childhood memory is actually beating up, with the help of my mom and brothers, my emotionally abusive step-father. Also most satisfying memory. It's the only time in my life that I have seen Karma come back on someone and as an added bonus I got to participate!

Going on holiday to Nain and Tied in Wales, the hot summers and walking with them down gentle country lanes my Nain elegant and my Tied immaculately dressed with his gold stud in his collar,picking wild billberries and getting a bag of chips to eat on the way home.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Cherry Kool-Aid, running around outside until the street lights come on, playing hide-n-seek, climbing trees, I double-dog dare you, taking a swig from the hose, wishing I was my brother who could pee behind a tree and I had to go inside to do it.
I could go on and on....

going to work with my dad in the 6 week holidays and having to hide if any of the bosses came round, he was a caretaker of a school and i used to hide in classrooms under tables with the lights off!!
i had great childhood with too many happy memories so that was just the first one to come to mind this morning, thanks for asking, made me happy to think of them all, xx

finding a fiver in 1980, never having pocket money a fiver was like finding a million pounds, we bought a giant box of matches and accidentally set the back garden on fire, the fire engines came and I didn't get in trouble.
