I shed a tear almost every time I hear this song!
Rosa Lee McFall
Lyrics: Traditional (Charlie Monroe)
Music: Traditional (Charlie Monroe)
Out on the lonely hillside
In a cabin low and small
Lived the sweetest rose of color
My Rosa Lee McFall
Her hair was brightsome color
Her voice was sweet to me
I know that I will always love her
And I hope that she loved me
A asked her to be my darling
And this is what she said
You know that I will only be happy
When you and I are wed
Then God way up in heaven
One day for her did call
I lost my bride, oh how I loved her
My Rosa Lee McFall
I've searched the wide world over
Cities great and small
But I've never found another
Like my Rosa Lee McFall
Out on the lonely hillside
In a cabin low and small
Lived the sweetest rose of color
My Rosa Lee McFall

Good Riddance by Green Day
It's the 17th track on the Nimrod CD.
I learned it on the guitar and the banjo, and I almost tear-up every time I play it.
It's sad, happy, hopeful, and hopeless all at the same time.
It's the perfect expression of meloncholy.
You Are Always On My Mind by Willie nelson is a classic as well,
But there's ONE line from a song that always haunts me:
"And I've never gotten used to it
I've just learned to turn it off
Either I'm too sensitive
Or else I'm gettin' soft"
--Bob Dylan--

Lots of songs from the 70's and 80's, some of them are:
1) Wish we were heroes by Melissa Manchester and David Gates.
2) Caught between goodbye and I love you by Carpenters.
3) Never gonna fall in love again by Eric Carmen.
4) That's enough for me by Paul Williams.
5) Until I fall in love again by Marie Osmond.
