Is it ok for a guy to play the female lead?
We are making a short film,kind of home production.We are a group of 4 girls & 1 guy.The story has 4 male characters and 1 female character.My freind suggested that in that case let the guy play the female role and we girls wd play the 4 guy roles.
Is this a good idea?
If yes,shd he wear regular day clothes like skirt or salvar kamez or jeans...or shd we go all out and dress him real girlie in a saree with jew and make up?

In theatre tradition its quite common for the roles to be reversed eg. the ugly sisters are often men and prince charming is often played by a woman.I don't see why not as long as the guy doesnt mind, it would make quite an interesting twist.Go for it I say!

This is going to be real tough, and I hope u all are good actors. It is one thing to act as per one's proper gender, it is many times difficult to act as the opposite gender, u have to always be careful, so as not to slip, the gender role. It would be quite a strain, but hopefully the film would be extra spicy and juicy. Let him go all out and dress like a real girlie in a saree and jewels, because he is going to have a lenghty role, and the dress helps in acting the gender, in addition to acting the role.

See I am naughty...but since you want an answer from me then please first tell me that whether there are any hot scenes in your script...if yes then what is the temperature,,,what is the polarity...etc. Without knowing the script how can anybody choose the dress yaar..?????????????
