I think you need to calm down - my wife went through just the same as you and our first baby was eventually only born 10 days late. There's always a risk but you're in the right hands.
My wife not being able to relax was probably the main reason she was late (or the doctors didn't give us an accurate date - my suspicion) and once we were able to start chilling out then the normal processes started and we had a healthy lovely boy.

Just some thoughts, I am not an expert....
I had Group B Strep with my second child and nothing ever came of it. The doctor never seemed overly concerned with it so I didn't worry about it.
Secondly, my initial thought to your questions was: If you don't completely trust your midwife you should find someone you really trust. But it might be too late for that?! Anyhow, in the reading I have done and the experiences I have witnessed (though none personally), midwives are much less likely to use medical intervention of any kind to speed up the birthing process. They are of the mind-set that the woman's body will do what it needs to do when it needs to do it. Did you have a midwife with your previous births?
My advice at this point would be... stop reading from the Internet. :) I mean that with all the best intentions. But you will end up worrying yourself sick if you keep reading what *could* go wrong. Your midwife(s?) know what they are doing and I'm sure you at one point found yourself to have enough trust in them to bless them with the opportunity to help deliver your baby into the world. Let them do their job while you do yours as best you can... try to relax and enjoy your last few remaining days with baby tucked warm and safe inside your womb.
On a side note: My first child had her first BM while still inside me after they induced labor. It can cause respiratory issues but usually it is recovered from quickly. They will just try to suction the baby really really well before the first big breathe of air is drawn into their lungs to try and prevent the meconium from entering their lungs. My daughter was suctioned well and her first cries were strong and beautiful and she never had any complications from it. I'm sure if this situation happens to you the results will be much the same! :)
All the best in the days to come!

Are you also seeing a medical doctor? I would highly recommend you see a licensed OB with access to a good hospital for a second opinion ASAP.
I was being attended by a very good OB and my son is almost 13 and very healthy...but...
I was due June 10 and not induced until July 8th. I also had Group B Strep and was put on an antibiotic drip while in labor. Because of this drip, my son had HORRIBLE thrush for his first 2 months.
The Pitocin caused contractions but I never dilated...not even a centimeter. After 15 hours of non-productive labor, they lost my son's heartbeat and performed an emergency C-section. As they were pulling him out, he was having a bowel movement.
My doctor was wrong in letting my pregnancy go for so long. And, I don't want to scare you, but you really do need to get a second opinion just to be sure you are being as safe as possible with your baby.
Congratulations and good luck :)

The most important thing here at the moment is the Group B strep - make sure you inform the staff if you go into labour yourself or when you're induced - you should get IV antibiotics for that during labour.
Regarding your due dates, they will normally go by scans to decide the due date, and should be monitoring you closely if you're overdue to make sure the placenta remains healthy (it tends to start failing into the 41st and 42nd weeks).
Monitor your baby's movements closely. If you think they're any less than normal - go for scans. Do that every day if you feel worried - take no chances.
Good luck, I hope everything goes well for you.

besides your midwife, Have you talked to a doctor? I am not totally aware of all of the problems but i had a friend that was overdue and they ended up having to do a c-section on her because the baby just didn't want to come out. she was 2 weeks over-due and the doctors became concerned about baby but each situation is different. I would suggest you talk to a doctor.

if i was you i would ask your midwife to check the date because they only normally let you go 14 days over your due date. also try everything you can think of to bring your labour on ie sex, blowing up balloons, walk round the house with 1 high shoe on and no shoe on the other foot. don't mean to worry you because the best thing is to stay clam i just want to help you and advice you like i said that's what i would do at the end of the day you are the one having the baby and you need to be reassured that all this fine. good luck and all the best.

I was exactly two weeks past due with BOTH of my children and they were healthy. The other thing to remember is the scheduled induction is just that - your little one may choose to come prior to that! However- trust your instincts also- if you feel that something is wrong- check it out- you can always go to your local hospital and do the infant "stress test" to see how they are progressing. Calm down and good luck!!!

I in my honest opinion wouldnt trust them have 6 weeks left with twins but have had protein ketones glucose and lekosides in my urine with says i am using my bodies reserve supply and diabetic but 4 drs have said its fine if you look in their text books its not ! my midwife is worse than useless she told me she does not have a clue about twin pregnancy !!!
Group B strep is dangerous for your baby and you should be on antibiotics now so stop it being passed through when in labour they do sometime give you a section if you have Strep as its an infectious bacteria
