I do... they're too easy and expected... and boring. I mean I guess if they're the gigantenormous ones that smell up the whole room you've just got to appreciate them... but generally speaking, I hate them...

MALE1905 - LOL - you're such a male. Girls do like getting flowers. Just a little tip. Sounds like you just don't like buying them. Funny... :)

arily666 - if I got 100 red roses I'd cry I'd be so happy... and then I'd wish they were any color but red. :)

I don't have a problem with them but as a gift, they are pretty typical. You see roses everywhere so they don't seem very unique. I've been given roses and loved them because it's the thought behind the gift that counts. If I were to choose flowers for myself based on what I like, it wouldn't be roses. I actually like eucalyptus better because I love the smell. I guess it's a shrub and it doesn't seem very 'romantic' but it's what I prefer.

no not really but it does remind of a story where i sent over a hundred red roses to a girlfriend once and she got flamed cause I had not offered to pay the kids grocery bill so she sent me back the petals of one in an envelope with a message . One just never knows at least not in advance with out a word . since then Ive been practicing my mind reading act but alas to no avail.....

I used to hate them. But everything in creation is beautiful in it's own way. (I'm still trying to figure out how to get past the boredom issue.) Sadly florist's red roses have had the fragrance hybridized out of them.

Reminds me of hybridized poodles, no intellegence. But, I hear that breeders have been breeding for brains in the past decade.

Wonder when growers will hybridize grocery store tomatoes for flavor? ha ha!

Yes, I was never much fond of roses myself. I like more unusual flowers. Daffodils are fun because they are so cheery. Bird of Paradise, because it's exotic. And so forth...
