okay I was reading in cervical mucus when you have it does mean you are pregnant or that is how you detected that you are ovulating?

I understand your question. During ovulation, the time preceeding your period, the inner mucosa, or lining, of the vaginal walls, will produce a thicker amount, to catch those pesky little eggs(ova), and keep them hostage for a sneaky little sperm to introduce itself. The eggs are stuck to the wall, the spermies, stuck to the eggs. If there's contact, breaching the egg, viola' baby! If not ,it's all just flushed away in the normal course of your period. Make sense?

that means you're ovulating and fertile.... able to get pregnant.

usually a sign of ovulation, but look it up on ivillage to be sure.
