Sterling is fine, but try to get rid of any Jersey currency before you leave.

Geographically, Jersey IS closer to France, than the UK, - but, it is STILL GOVERNED, by the UK, - thus, it USES UK currency, - although, I believe that POUND NOTES, - rather than pound COINS, - are still used, there! You SHOULD be OK, to use Sterling!

Uk currency is fine but your change will be in jersey currency ..
