Simple Green for anyone who doesn't know is a car washing soap.... the cap was leaking a little apparently and I leaked 1/3 of a bottle into my car's trunk!! What will happen if I just leave it there? I mean it is soap, and it has a refreshing minty lime scent. How can I clean it all off?

Simple Green is already a cleaner(I use it to clean all sorts of hard to remove spots & stains in the laundry, on tile floors....) so use a carpet shampooer(you may want to add defoamer to keep the suds down)and simply wash it out till the suds & residue are gone.
If you leave it there it may get sticky and attract dirt to stick to it. At least get a wet towel and scrub it up into the towel. Then air dry your trunk so it does not mildew.

Funny my sister did the EXACT same thing. Because my mother did it previously and we figured we would just let it be ... since it's soap and all, and smells great... and it got all disgusting and sticky, tacky, and all sorts of dirt from ANYthing got into it... We used our wet-vac (you can rent one from the grocery store "Dirt Devil") and since it's already soap, we just used the wet-vac to suck it all up. It took a while though, but once we got the majority of it up, THEN we used a little bit of the water spray, and sucked that up... just to dilute it and get more of it sucked out of the car... aaaannd then we scrubbed with a towel, constantly rotating the towel so that we would expose the dry parts of the towel to the wet parts of the trunk, and parked in front of the house with the trunk wide open. In a couple hours it was bone dry, and smelled even better than with the concentrated Simple Green spilled everywhere. While you're at it, ya may as well vacuum out the rest of the car anyway, and wet-vac your removeable rugs from the interior if you'll be sitting in front of your home while the trunk dries anyway. :)
Oh and yes I would recommend drying with the trunk open, please choose a relatively warm day... that way you won't get mildew. Oh goodness that's 10x worse than sticky, grimy Simple Green by ANY stretch.

Good luck to you,
mir :)

I have simple green household cleaner which got split on a off white carpet, it left a faint stain. It came out with a Bisel carpet cleaner (not a steam cleaner, just a hot water/detergent cleaner) I can't remember the exact name. Some had come out with spot shot but the stain was to big and I didn't want to blot the whole thing.

If the car soap and household cleaner are similar it should be just as easy to take out.

Water and a shop vac would also likely take it out.

I would try taking the capret out and washing it with a house.. cause that stuff will get all moldy and smell like toothpaste
