Hi James, Everyone dreams at night and a lot of us just don't remember. But if our dreams feel real and like we could just touch them, you will remember dreams like this. I believe dreams like these are trying to tell us something or trying to warm us of something that is going to happen. so it is natural for all of us to dream at night. sometimes if you fall a sleep in the afternoon you could have a dream. A Friend.

Everyone dreams, you obviously just don't remember yours. If you're a deep sleeper you won't remember them because you actually need to wake up, even just for a minute, in order to recall your dreams when you wake up in the morning.
B vitamins are notorious for causing strange and abundant dreams so try upping your B vitamin intake or take a supplement a couple of hours before you go to bed.

Meditate on your dream as you doze off. Use your imagination when doing this. Have a fantasy or something. When you sleep, it may or may not follow through your R.E.M. sequence but you would have started the process
