DO NOT USE BLEACH ON BIOLOGICALS! If there COULD be old blood, urine, feces, etc, do not use bleach. It will bond with ammonia, uric acid and many other organic/biological chemicals. Use something safe for biologicals. If you have a blanket that the dog lays on and it smells - use bleach if you like. I'm not famalair with Odoban myself, but I know MANY other pet/biological cleaners work well... Odergon, SOX, etc.

I agree, Odoban is pretty good. But, for getting rid of odors - Better idea - Someone else mentioned charcoal. I have the perfect product that I've used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great. It works so much better than baking soda and all those sprays and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. The carbon literally absorbs and eliminates the odors and works for a long time. Just place some of them around problem area. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Someone else even said available in England. Definitely worth trying.

Step 1 Always clean up pet messes as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Step 2 Identify the odiferous areas of your carpet. If you're not sure where they are, darken the room and turn on a black-light bulb to highlight any dried accident spots. Step 3 Deep-clean the problem areas using a water-extraction carpet-cleaning machine or a carpet-shampoo machine and cool water only--no chemicals or cleaners. (To rent or buy one of these machines, look under "Carpet and Rug Cleaners' Equipment and Supplies" or a similar heading in the yellow pages.) Step 4 Sprinkle an enzyme-containing pet-odor-neutralizing powder (available at pet stores or your vet's office) on the affected areas. Pet-odor-neutralizing powders contain live bacteria and enzymes that digest odor-causing protein and bacteria, permanently removing it from the deepest fibers in your carpet. These products also contain a mild cleanser that can help remove discoloration. Alternatively, you can use borax powder or baking soda, but they are less effective in eliminating stubborn odors. Step 5 Let sit for 8 hours. Step 6 Vacuum the treated areas. Let sit for 24 hours. Step 7 If odor remains after you have treated the carpet with an enzyme odor neutralizer, repeat the treatment as needed to eliminate lingering odors. Step 8 Understand that in severe cases where the soiling has occurred for an extended period of time, you may need to replace the carpet padding. Good Luck!

I've been using OdoBan for a couple of years (I buy the gallon of concentrate at Sam's Club) and it's great. I don't wash walls with it tho but spray it on the carpets and furniture. If you're shampooing carpets, pour some in the cleaning solution.

The way to treat your carpets is to invest in a carpet/rug cleaner. Walmart sells 2 products which I have found work great and unlike some pet eliminating products these work right in a carpet cleaning machine... they eliminate pet stains and neutralize pet odors. They are... Odo Ban pet (in the pet section) and Bissell Pet & Odor (in the carpet cleaner section) They also have a pleasant scent, and by cleaning the carpets it also picks up any fur that your vacuum may have missed. There are other products that you can buy at pet stores however with those you have to pour the liquid and leave it there to dry on its own .. can take along time to dry and will damage your carpet, padding and wood underneath. The carpet cleaner does a great job and dries rather quickly I use a carpet cleaner weekly/biweekly (have 6 dogs)

Neither of those products will work to remove pet odors and they can not be used everywhere around the house for general cleaning, there is one product you can use for general cleaning and odor removal and that is and I swear by this: White Vinegar, just add anywhere from a half cup to a full cup of vinegar to the water you have put in either your bucket or sink full of water and clean whatever it is you are cleaning it will remove odors, pet urine, clean and disinfect and let me add to this; this is the best disinfectant in the world, I use this to clean my whole house to clean and freshen and for pet accidents even stains it is good for, and for cleaning residue out of clothes and softening them all in the same wash water rinse, it's a great cleaner I love this Vinegar to clean and freshen. It can even be used to clean your vegetables and fruits Good Luck !
