I don't see much use for the UN. As for the US "harassing and intimindating the UN by its vetoes", I don't see it that way. If anything, it is Russia and China that have been doing it so well in relation to Iran and North Korea sanctions. The UN is nothing without the US. We pay a third of the dues. We are always called upon to participate in peacekeeping ventures, to pitch in beyond our fair share during disasters, at fighting starvation and diseases, and we should also recognize Ted Turner who has donated $1 billion of his own money to the advancement of the UN. Problem is the UN leadership is corrupt and no one has the power to hold anyone accountable. The UN has turned into a partisan, anti-US institution, and should be moved to a neutral country. It is basically useless and without any moral or responsible authority.

I don't know where you guys come up with this stuff. The U.S. is the largest contributor to the U.N. and is voted against more than any other member. The U.N. to the U.S.is like having 100 wives and 300 children and supporting them all only to be kicked in the teeth. The U,N. has had a lot of corruption exposed and a lot of it from the oil for food program that Saddam bought off everyone. The French, the Russians, even Kofi Annans son and many suspect Annan also

Its done better than the League of Nations, but it needs to represent NEW geopolitical realities. the Security Council does not represent all the major powers. the veto system makes it anti-democratic

There are a lot of good programs in the UN, but there are gaping holes in the areas of ethics, love of peace, credibility and leadership.

The General Assembly is a joke.

I think the United States should pull all funding and spend the money at home. The United Nations is completley inept.
