I'm currently reading Trunk Music by Michael Connelly and it's really good. It's pretty much my first crime/mystery novel I've ever read and I want more.

ALL of Michael Connelly's books are great. You have kind of jumped in the middle of the Harry Bosch series. I suggest you backtrack and start with Black Echo and go forward to really get the full Harry Bosch effect.
Also Michael is a former LA Times Crime Beat reporter and he has published a book called Crime Beat which goes over some of his actual news stories and shows how he used them in his books. Trunk Music is based on an actual case.
Michael is a great guy. I have met him several times. LIke so many who write crime fiction (me included I guess) he is a very gentle, soft spoken person and very interesting to talk to. He also has a great website and does respond to questions there.
