Depends if the role players step up...Raymar Morgan, Goran Sutton and Travis Walton.

I think MSU has proved they can play with the big boys this year by nearly beating both Wisci and OSU on their home courts. Add to that a win against Texas and another close one against Maryland. This team has also gotten beaten handily by Purdue, Michigan, Illinois and Iowa, which are not good teams.

It really depends on the team that shows up. Neitzel needs to get his points, but also needs the number two and three options to chip in. If they do, MSU could go far and could upset Marquette and UNC, but I just don't think that they have the horses this year. As an MSU fan I pretty much expect to see them in the sweet sixteen every year, but this year is different; outside of Morgan and Neitzel the talent just is not there. If Shannon Brown stayed for his senior year this could be a potential final four or national championship team...you can't really blame him though.

First off, a Cinderella team is usually a team that is seeded #11 or lower (ex: Winthrop, Old Dominion, Jackson State, Weber State). They're also usually a team that doesn't normally make regular apperances in the NCAA tournament and that most people don't give a shot in the dark to get past the first or second round.

Michigan State is a 9 seed and with a relatively recent national championship under their belt, they're not what I'd call a "cinderella".

With that being said, do I think Michigan State can get hot and make a run? Yes. They're certainly capable of beating Marquette and I'm a Kentucky fan, I've seen what MSU can do first hand in the tourney. You contain Jerel McNeal (who isn't 100% anyway) and Dominic James, you're set.

I just don't know if Neitzel has the help he needs to get past UNC in the 2nd round. And if they do, they'll more then likely face Texas with Kevin Durant in the Sweet 16. So his teammates are going to have to step it up big time, but it's march and as we all know ANYTHING can happen.

Yes he does have good leadership but is hard to see the Spartans beating so many good teams to win the title.

particular he's rather good, he outscored osu this night in the 2d 0.5 on my own! this guy is a stud yet he did omit 2 huge open possibilities to win, yet he's rather good i think would be a advantageous pickup for somebody in the draft early 2d around, i think of lawson for unc has extra useful potentail tho

No, Marquette's guards are quick defenders and will have no problem containing him.
